Oxted & Limpsfield

Sun 20 Sept                                    Oxted & Limpsfield                           Won by 5 wkts

They  218/4 in 35 overs  (Stuart Fletcher 86, Greg Miller 33 rtd, Stephen Brooks 32*, Sunil Amar 2/27)

We     220/5 in 34 overs  (Andrew Davis 112, Isaac Miller 53*, Nitin Chaturvedi 25, Nick Emmins 3/25)

A game should never be organised for the day after the Youths/Vets match. But Sunil decided to accept a fixture with only 9 die-hard enthusiasts available, reduced to 7 on the day, as we trudged off south to Oxted to face their full team. The opposition were extremely kind and understanding, but probably very disappointed. Nick Emmins, the Oxted skipper, sensibly suggested we should mix the teams and make a 35 over game of it. So it was that Oscar, Varun and Khush played under the OLCC banner and Nitin, Deepak, Neeraj (capt) and Sunil played for KCC.

Oxted batted first and posted a total of 218 with their opener Stuart Fletcher getting 86. Sunil managed to pick up 2 wickets at a cost of 27 runs. In response, Andrew Davis led the charge for KCC hammering a better than a run-a-ball hundred before falling to Khush when attempting to finish the match with a four. ‘Kensington’ won the game with an over to spare.

The Oxted players were very hospitable and they appreciated the Cobras and Johnnie Walker whiskies presented to them
